What we collect
When you ask for help, the form collects:
- your name,
- your phone number,
- your email, if you choose to give it,
- your city or ZIP,
- the kind of help you need, and
- the page you sent it from.
When a company asks to join, the form collects:
- the company name,
- the contact’s name and phone number,
- the counties it serves, and
- the page it was sent from.
When a cleanup company asks to buy a line, our company check collects:
- the business name and its UBI number,
- its L&I contractor registration number, if it has one,
- its certificate of liability insurance and the date it expires, and
- a contact email and phone number.
When a business buys an ad, the ad builder collects the business name, its website, its kind of business, the ad line, the county and an email, and the business's own photo or logo if it adds one.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or keep card numbers.
When you call us, our phone provider, Twilio, tells us when the call started, how long it lasted, and the city and state your phone company lists. We keep that in a call log.We do not keep your phone number in it, and we do not record calls.
We add the time each form arrived and a reference number. We do not use ad trackers. We count visits and button clicks without cookies or personal data.We use your approximate location to suggest a county. We don't store it.When a visit comes from a link in an AI assistant, we add one to a count for that page and month. We keep nothing about the visitor. We do not sell your information.Every email we send to a business has an unsubscribe link, and using it stops all email to that address.
Why we collect it
- To send your request to a local company we’ve checked.
- So that company, or we, can call or text you about it.
- To talk with a company about joining.
- If you give us your email, to tell you a local company will call. We do not give your email to the company.
- To stop spam and abuse.
Where your details go
- Requests for help. Your request goes to a local company we’ve checked. They see the kind of help and your area first, and get your name and number only when they agree to help.
- If our dispatch service cannot be reached, we email your request to our own inbox instead, so it is not lost.
- Company sign-ups are emailed to our inbox. They do not go to the dispatch service.
- Our records. We keep a copy of each request and each company sign-up we accept in our database.
We send email through Resend. Our database is Upstash Redis. With a request for help, we also pass your internet address to our dispatch service, so it can stop too many requests from one place.
How we check for spam
We use spam checks, including Cloudflare Turnstile, and short-lived scrambled codes that are not your real address or number. Some codes used to block abuse are kept longer: a code for a number we blocked for junk requests has no end date, and the codes saved with a request are deleted with it after two years. When you send a form, we pass your internet address to Cloudflare to confirm the check.
Who sees it
- One local company we’ve checked, the one that agrees to help.
- Our email provider, Resend. It delivers company sign-ups, and any request our dispatch service could not take, to our inbox.
- Our phone and text provider, Twilio. It carries calls to our number and sends texts about your request. To stop texts, reply STOP to any text.
The companies that run our service handle it too.Vercel hosts this site and its forms, Render runs our dispatch service, Upstash stores our records, and Cloudflare runs the Turnstile check. They do this only to run the service for us.Nobody else sees it, unless the law requires us to share it.
How long we keep it
We keep requests for up to two years, then delete them. The same goes for company checks and their files, ad orders and the call log. They are deleted automatically.
How to ask us to delete it
Email hello@biohazardnetwork.com.Tell us the phone number you used.We will delete your request and tell you when it is done.
The company that agreed to help keeps its own records. We will ask it to delete your details too.
